World Earth Day 2014

I have always wanted to try shaving foam marbling and celebrating World Earth Day this year was a great opportunity to get creating. I showed the boys (both around two years of age) an image of the earth using google earth and we talked about where we lived. We started with a tray of shaving foam with some blue and green stripes of acrylic paint.
None of the boys are particularly keen on getting themselves covered in shaving foam as it tends to stick to them but this craft involved them moving the paint around with cotton wool buds and they found this fascinating. I then gave the boys some circular pieces of paper, showing them how to press them into the foam and pull them out to make a resulting earth pattern.

We produced some lovely earth pictures and the beauty of this activity was that all the pictures were completely unique.
